Awarded Penangite's silver stamp of approvalWas sceptical due to all the bad reviews but pleasantly surprised when we went for Sunday lunch. It wasn't packed so service was quick and the waiters were very friendly. All food and drinks tasted good with great presentation especially paired with the unique tent ambience, only complaint was the soup could be creamier. Mains and cocktails were normal cafe price fares. Try the truffle carbonara ikura scallop pasta 👍P.S. Make a reservation first if you'd like to sit in the tent, minimum spending is RM150 which is clearly stated beforehand.

Decor or Ambience:Decor is nice, something unique.Ambience is presentable. Certainly not a place for disable people, as you need to use lift and climb stairs.Photography:A place to take photos, but you maybe a little disappointed when you notice your smart phone or normal camera equipment can only do so much and majorly is just Komtar Tower. For those who has massive photography equipment maybe it's worthwhile.Dining:I am a vegetarian, hence choices are limited for me, but food is really a luxury at this place. For some reason, it's super duper expensive. For vegetarians, they serve "beyond" veg steak, not to my taste buds, but only for that reason I find money value. Else they really need good chef to spice up their food. Expensive without taste.(Can't comment anything on non-veg food ya)Culture:It's weird that this restaurant, seeks you to pay first for the food instead of like any other restaurants. No idea why they do that even if you are sitting at the table. I can totally understand a minimum payment for the tents but table? Hmmm...Payment:They accept almost all kind of payment method.Tent: RM 150 minimum upfront paymentTable: Order and Pay, only then you get a table.

A cafe that is IG worthy of food presentation and view. The price is a little steep and is only good for smaller crowd. The food are good but nothing special.A good place to catch up with friends, but it gets a little awkward once the crowd comes in as there will be people waiting to sit. To enjoy the tent outdoor, you are required to make a booking in advance. The tents are equipped with air-cond.It’s confusing to get to the car park as the hotel is by the main road. You need to turn into Macalister Road and look for WOW Hotel parking signage. Take the elevator up to the highest floor and walk up 2 flight of stairs to reach the rooftop. Wearing heels will be a bit tricky as the main halls’ flooring are filled with big white pebbles.

Environment is quite good. Plenty of sun light. However, it is not baby friendly. The "baby chair" provided is a smaller chair with no safety rail. Your baby is likely going to slide down the chair with ease. Come on, at least get a proper baby chair from IKEA. If you have baby, go there without your baby or skip the cafe altogether.

Overall not impressed.Had to order food at the front counter. Got a number on the receipt for where i should sit but tables not numbered.Cake needed to be ordered separately. Both counters only accept cash - no progress since every shop nowadays have cashless payment.Too meticulous in telling customers what to do. Was told i couldn’t bring in outside food which was a cup of almost-finished coffee. Waitress ran up the stairs , asking to make way while i was only 1 step away from reaching the upper floor.

Premium price tag but lousy service! There should be no star at all!I bring my family of 5 came for dessert around 8.30pm. There quite a few empty tables around but we were assigned to a long table underneath a staircase. The area is really tight. The wooden stool is not stable and there is no back support. I politely request the waiter to change a table for us. He said will speak to his superior. A Chinese lady came and ask me whether I requested to change the table.I never encountered such a rude waitress that will ask a customer "Are u ordering any mains?" When I told her no as we just ordered some cakes and drinks. She just look at me and said no. I replied her "Thanks and we will leave early." I did mentioned to her certainly a bad review for them. She just walked away.Even my 9 years old daughter said the lady is so rude!Thank you China House and you have loss a customer because of this lady.

Touring around Penang island and found this hidden gem near our hotel when we were craving for a hearty western breakfast toast meal. Weekday morning with little crowd, great ambience and perfect selection of music, making it the perfect experience for us. Of course, the bagel and avocado toast are delicious~

If you are a fan of lobster, truffles, Wagyu beef, Iberico pork, oysters, etc, you may try out this restaurant. Definitely it will fill your taste buds with satisfaction. There are variety of wines to choose as well.If you are not a fan of high end food, they are few meals with normal cafe price as well.Overall taste is good for us, only my wagyu Don is not really suit me, as I am not a fan of black pepper sauce. The beef is still nice.

Tldr; A pink color themed restaurant with mediocre western food and good service. The catch is, the price isn’t worth it. It has a membership system where you can benefit from the price but it requires you to top up beforehand, hence you have to pay an inflated price if you’re not their member, which isn’t ideal. Really wouldn’t recommend it if you're looking for a fine dining experience. But if you’re really into pink, you can give it a try.Review:I’ve had their tomato soup, oysters, drunken clam and angus beef burger. The tomato soup is served with a piece of garlic bread, which is very crunchy and buttery. It goes really well with the tomato soup. However the tomato soup itself is not creamy enough for me(I like creamy tomato soups compared to the lighter ones). The second dish presented was their oysters. It wasn’t a good experience. I’ve ordered 3 oysters, 2 of them were warm and the other one was still frozen at the core, and they don’t taste fresh either. Really wouldn’t recommend it.The third dish, drunken clam, which was introduced by the waiter is really good. The clams were very fresh and tasty. The soup is also very flavourful embedded with the sweetness of the clams, it was very nice. The main dish, their angus beef burger, was disappointing to say the least. The whole burger is very dry. The patty was way overcooked. For an Angus beef burger that costs RM55, I expect at least some juiciness from the patty, but it was just very dry. I can only see one little pink spot at one of the bite, and nowhere else.As for their service, it was really good, especially the male waiter over there. He is very polite, keen to introduce stuff and gives good honest suggestions on the food. The food service was alright as well.Let’s talk about their environment, it was clean, slightly old and really pinkish. Not my style really.Overall an overpriced restaurant with okay-ish food. Their service was good but it doesn’t do good enough for me to recommend to others.Food: ★★☆☆☆Service: ★★★★☆Environment: ★★★☆☆Typical Spending Range: RM50~RM100/pax

It's my third visit since the first a few years back. Don't get me wrong. Nothing to do with the food. Simply because the pocket hurts =PWell, that's because this place serves dishes that're really pleasant to your taste buds compared to averag-ish western food choices in other cafes. Also, their Aussie Iced Caffe Latte is second to none on the island. Initially I was hesitated to order because it's priced at RM18, but my gawd, the first sip blew me away. It could taste a tad sweet, however, for people without a sweet tooth. The cafe is spacious and has a lightwell, making it a great place for catch-ups. There are also local reads about Penang's history for sale =)No comments about the presentable bakeries and confectionaries as I haven't tried them.I'm keeping that one star for their room of improvement. 'Cause I hope that they'll lower the food price or come up with affordable dishes that are good as the ones on the menu =P

I went there on Thursday evening and I was the only customer there. The selection of pastries are not much. But the selection of drinks is quite vary from coffee, tea and chocolate. You can choose according to your liking. I got the dark belgian chocolate drink and banana cake. What i love is they are not that sweet. The staffs are also nice recommending what I should get. The interior is unique too. Suitable for two people but not for a group of friends or family

Very pleasant decor, trendy, modern and photogenic. Good coffees and teas, limited menu of pastries and cakes. A pleasant experience and very close to Komtar which is useful as the Komtar area is a bit lacking in nice cafes. A cool air conditioned break from the heat. Just don’t expect a full menu as it’s not that kind of place.

A cafe with a minimalistic interior decoration, which serves cookies, cakes, pastries and beverages. It does not have main courses on its menu. While the cafe itself is very social media-worthy, we found the cake and pastry which we ordered (while tasty), we’re nothing much to shout about. We heard that their home-made cookies were the cafe’s specialty, but we didn’t ordered any.

A very spacious cafe with both outdoors and indoors seating. Outdoor seating comes with a parasol and fan at most tables, while indoor seating is at both ground and first floor of the cafe. The coffee is very aromatic and for the brewed coffee lovers, there are various beans to choose from. The cakes are delicious, but can be a bit sweet for my personal liking.

A cafe for cakes & beverages. Seems popular, there are streams of customers coming in every few minutes probably due to its "newness". Cakes are not too sweet which is good and the purple sweet potato drink is nice. Overall is jus like any other cafe serving cakes & beverages.

A rustic and cosy cafe located in the heart of George Town heritage area. The cafe has a menu which is more catered for breakfast/brunch, but there are some options on the menu to fill up one’s tummy. They have a wide variety of beverages, ranging from caffeinated, non-caffeinated, soft drinks, right up to beers(!).Their choice of desserts are quite limited though - they don’t serve cakes or something similar.

Good coffee (could have been fair bit hotter) and nice western style breakfasts.Lovely rustic building inside with an indoor courtyard feel.We had the smoked salmon toast and Avocado Toast 3 Ways (last photo) although bread was warmed, rather than toasted. Perhaps menu should say “toast 3 ways” as only 1 slice is topped with some avocado.

Taste: 3/5 ⭐ | Service: 4/5 ⭐ | Ambience: 5/5 ⭐Price: RM86.80 | Number of pax: 2We ordered Dirty Orange, Iced Hojicha Latte, Avocado Toast 3-Ways and Hungarian Breakfast. Drinks were okay, not bad. The name of the toast was a little misleading and we assumed it was going to be 3 types of avocado toast. It was just 3 types of toast (1 of it being avocado toast). As for the Hungarian Breakfast, we found it a little too heavy because the hollandaise sauce plus the poached egg is too rich. The Hungarian sausage does balance it out a little.Best item of the visit: Dirty OrangeWill we return: MaybeFollow on Instagram @mealtimeagain

We ordered the coffee mint julep, pala pala (nutmeg hot tea), mango mint mojito and black forest coffee. The mojito was super refreshing loaded with mint leaves and pala pala was yummy but needed 2 pkts of sugar to enhance the taste further. The coffee was an acquired taste but yummy in a way. They also serve pasta and other breakfast menu which we will definitely go back to try out. The place is cosy to just hang out with friends regardless of the time of day or after dinner. Go check it out. Footnote : Muslim owned.

We came here because of the review but everything is not ready up to expectation. First, it is really hard and bad to find a parking place, at the end we have to illegally parked at the corner of the main road. Second, when seated, we were asked to sit on the left room (while the right room is empty and cozy) whereby all tables are occupied and noisy. Third, the food took a long time to serve due to lack of manpower, basically this is not a place for food if you are hungry, be prepared to wait more than 40 mins. Forth, the worst, we ordered Vegetarian Cabonara and it is tasteless, only capsicum flavour, nothing else, imaging spaghetti cooked in clear milk water, that's my feeling. The Colombia coffee thta we ordered, it is not really hot, lurk warm if I may put it. I gave 3 star for the coffee and the ice-cream waffle which is good (but the menu is misleading, it stated in the menu that the waffle is enough for 3 person, not true, it is good for only 1-2 person sharing). The ambiance is good but please don't squeeze everyone into a small room, that's the worst practice especially we are still facing the risk of Covid-19.

Good selection of food & beverages with nicely designed environment. However staff would need to be more conscientious when serving, not simply leaving non ordered food on one’s table while they check if it’s correct or for another table. Also to check that dishes are clean prior to using to serve, One coffee we ordered had clear lipstick marks on the cup 🤷🏻🤦🏻

If you're looking for chill vibe away from lunch hours or a place to take good photos. This place worth considering. The overall design of the cafe and the friendliness and attentive if the staffs make this place very cosy. Can't give full 5 stars as I didn't order the main course. But there is a good varieties of cakes and beverages. I personally think the price might be a little pricy for the local but who am I to say. Food is really good as usual (I recommend Bolognese Chicky Meatballs), though I have a few suggestions for CAN to achieve tip top standard in the area of service:1. If your indoor seating is full, try to address your new customers before they enter so as to avoid the awkwardness.2. Repeat your customers' orders before issuing the bill.3. Try to give your customers a gentle reminder to shake their can drinks when you serve them, regardless of whether they know to or not.4. If a dish is gonna take longer to prepare, inform your customer ahead so that they can manage their expectations.5. Beef bacon was slightly overcooked during my visit today. Hopefully you can feedback to your kitchen staff.Thank you 😊Food: 4.5/5Ambience: 5 for outdoor seatingService: 4/5 (there's room for improvement)

Kopi hutan or jungle coffee. It's a cafe in a jungle. What a nice concept. You can take the buggy or walk for 2km to get up here. To get back, you can get a free ride if you keep the receipt. The cafe is run by aunties and the service is slow. A little patience pays because the jungle vibe is quite awesome. Don't expect too much from the coffee.

We ordered quite a lot - pastries, cakes, sandwich and coffee. The coffee was OK. The cakes were OK. The devil's food cake was nice. Pastries were not so flakey and light. The level of cleanliness was not so great. This affected our overall experience. Mouldy walls ...damp walls. We sat at the section after the cake counter... right at the end. Water pipes from upstairs were there. It was very very dirty. Black n mouldy . Lots of flies too!!! With the flies and the filthy corner, we had half the mind to get up and leave!!Since we ordered so much, we quickly ate and left.First and last. Tq.
