Food is good, portion is respectable, ambiance is great. Definitely a place I’ll visit again in the future. That being said, I do have a couple of gripes that I’ll elaborate further on. Your Sumo Breakfast will probably starve anyone who has an appetite of a slightly larger build. I was definitely fooled by the name of this dish thinking that it’s going to be a large portion or something. Don’t be mistaken, taste is fine and everything but maybe don’t name it Sumo Breakfast when it’s everything that Sumo implies isn’t.Coffee is delicious, but for gods sake please use a ceramic cup or whatever that’s not a plastic cup for dine-in. You’re in Penang - being touted as probably the most environmentally friendly and all. Act like one.And of course there’s a towering burger that’s as usual difficult to eat like a civilised person but luckily the knife is sharp enough so at least there’s that.

Price: Medium-highTaste: GoodSuggestion: I don’t really like croissant being heated using microwave. Probably oven would be better. But overall the taste is good.

Premium price tag but lousy service! There should be no star at all!I bring my family of 5 came for dessert around 8.30pm. There quite a few empty tables around but we were assigned to a long table underneath a staircase. The area is really tight. The wooden stool is not stable and there is no back support. I politely request the waiter to change a table for us. He said will speak to his superior. A Chinese lady came and ask me whether I requested to change the table.I never encountered such a rude waitress that will ask a customer "Are u ordering any mains?" When I told her no as we just ordered some cakes and drinks. She just look at me and said no. I replied her "Thanks and we will leave early." I did mentioned to her certainly a bad review for them. She just walked away.Even my 9 years old daughter said the lady is so rude!Thank you China House and you have loss a customer because of this lady.

Touring around Penang island and found this hidden gem near our hotel when we were craving for a hearty western breakfast toast meal. Weekday morning with little crowd, great ambience and perfect selection of music, making it the perfect experience for us. Of course, the bagel and avocado toast are delicious~

Nice quite cafe, spacious and a good place if u need to work offside. Coffee is nice and so are the brownies and their breakfast wrap. There is a few parking lots available to park at the driveway

Great find near the coastline of Georgetown, this cafe is definitely a good place to chill and have coffee/food after a long day of walking around.. Only downside is that it closes early (same with other places in the area).

It's my third visit since the first a few years back. Don't get me wrong. Nothing to do with the food. Simply because the pocket hurts =PWell, that's because this place serves dishes that're really pleasant to your taste buds compared to averag-ish western food choices in other cafes. Also, their Aussie Iced Caffe Latte is second to none on the island. Initially I was hesitated to order because it's priced at RM18, but my gawd, the first sip blew me away. It could taste a tad sweet, however, for people without a sweet tooth. The cafe is spacious and has a lightwell, making it a great place for catch-ups. There are also local reads about Penang's history for sale =)No comments about the presentable bakeries and confectionaries as I haven't tried them.I'm keeping that one star for their room of improvement. 'Cause I hope that they'll lower the food price or come up with affordable dishes that are good as the ones on the menu =P

Come after lunch hour - so calming and peaceful. The food is good and tasty. You can taste the Asian twist and so beautiful with the presentation.Lost the star for the price (more than average), food portions (smaller than average food with that price) & hygiene (drinks maker didn’t wear hair net)

Nice clean place for hang out. Had family dinner there. Food presentation was good. Food taste was average, no wow factor. Food was a bit pricey and comparatively small portion. My fish and chip was slightly over burnt. I would rather try other new places in the future.

I went there on Thursday evening and I was the only customer there. The selection of pastries are not much. But the selection of drinks is quite vary from coffee, tea and chocolate. You can choose according to your liking. I got the dark belgian chocolate drink and banana cake. What i love is they are not that sweet. The staffs are also nice recommending what I should get. The interior is unique too. Suitable for two people but not for a group of friends or family

Very pleasant decor, trendy, modern and photogenic. Good coffees and teas, limited menu of pastries and cakes. A pleasant experience and very close to Komtar which is useful as the Komtar area is a bit lacking in nice cafes. A cool air conditioned break from the heat. Just don’t expect a full menu as it’s not that kind of place.

A cafe with a minimalistic interior decoration, which serves cookies, cakes, pastries and beverages. It does not have main courses on its menu. While the cafe itself is very social media-worthy, we found the cake and pastry which we ordered (while tasty), we’re nothing much to shout about. We heard that their home-made cookies were the cafe’s specialty, but we didn’t ordered any.

A very spacious cafe with both outdoors and indoors seating. Outdoor seating comes with a parasol and fan at most tables, while indoor seating is at both ground and first floor of the cafe. The coffee is very aromatic and for the brewed coffee lovers, there are various beans to choose from. The cakes are delicious, but can be a bit sweet for my personal liking.

4.4

A cafe for cakes & beverages. Seems popular, there are streams of customers coming in every few minutes probably due to its "newness". Cakes are not too sweet which is good and the purple sweet potato drink is nice. Overall is jus like any other cafe serving cakes & beverages.

Quiet cafe with nice ambience. Also a nice place for photo spots outdoors, just that it can be hot. We visited for drinks which were pretty okay, recommend the hojicha. Didn’t order food this time but other tables’ orders looked good, will revisit to try next time.

A rustic and cosy cafe located in the heart of George Town heritage area. The cafe has a menu which is more catered for breakfast/brunch, but there are some options on the menu to fill up one’s tummy. They have a wide variety of beverages, ranging from caffeinated, non-caffeinated, soft drinks, right up to beers(!).Their choice of desserts are quite limited though - they don’t serve cakes or something similar.

Good coffee (could have been fair bit hotter) and nice western style breakfasts.Lovely rustic building inside with an indoor courtyard feel.We had the smoked salmon toast and Avocado Toast 3 Ways (last photo) although bread was warmed, rather than toasted. Perhaps menu should say “toast 3 ways” as only 1 slice is topped with some avocado.

Taste: 3/5 ⭐ | Service: 4/5 ⭐ | Ambience: 5/5 ⭐Price: RM86.80 | Number of pax: 2We ordered Dirty Orange, Iced Hojicha Latte, Avocado Toast 3-Ways and Hungarian Breakfast. Drinks were okay, not bad. The name of the toast was a little misleading and we assumed it was going to be 3 types of avocado toast. It was just 3 types of toast (1 of it being avocado toast). As for the Hungarian Breakfast, we found it a little too heavy because the hollandaise sauce plus the poached egg is too rich. The Hungarian sausage does balance it out a little.Best item of the visit: Dirty OrangeWill we return: MaybeFollow on Instagram @mealtimeagain

New cafe just opened. Cafe opened at 11am but kitchen operating a bit late after 1145am. If u come early u can only have drinks and cakes. A lot of choices for the drinks. Coffee was good too. Acceptable for a avid coffee drinker like me. Food was good too. Their truffle fries was good. Also big portion. Suitable for sharing. Ample parking at the place but the entrance to the shop is kinda confusing so when u arrive the area slow down your car and look closely for the entry sign.

The portion of clam was satisfying. Didn’t as spicy as I thought, the spiciness come from ginger. But overall the taste was not bad. Their black coffee was not bad too. Variety of food selection (all looks good !) the space was large enough to host big gathering

Nice setting and atmosphere, perhaps best for teatime. I had the red wine sauce chicken, and it was rather oily for me, and just tasted like ordinary chicken chop. The kombucha was interesting. I couldnt drink much, but my friends enjoyed it.Staff were pleasant and helpful.

Came here for their waffles. I had their chocolate waffles and it was good! The portion quite big, can share with 2 people. I loved their brownies too. Coffee was okay. The place was cozy, not many people was there during my visit. Quite difficult to find their shop at the first place 😅

Coffee specialist in town. They serve coffee and non-caffeine drinks in a cocktail way. Fancy and delicious. Taken into liking their seasalt mocha, dirty latte and The Awakening. They also serve Omakase (RM48). The Barista were friendly and professional-looking. Environment cosy, cold, modern and renovated in a way that looks like a pub. A few branches around the island, each with distinguished interior. Quite costly but quality is there.

I wanted to try their matcha pancake but it's not available, so I opted for the rose pancake. The rose sauce taste like the rose candy I had when I was little. The price is the standard cafe price. The environment is nice and relaxing, perfect for laptop work or catching up with friends.

We order hot matcha latte and cuppuccino - I would prefer if they are both served hot, and not warm.Matcha crepes highly recommended for matcha-manias.Nice deco, but some guests think they owned the place.Friendly staff. Good service.

The cafe is pleasingly aesthetic with nice ambience. I had Original Pancake with Matcha Icecream and Rose Matcha Latte, the pancake was fluffy and as a sweet tooth I approved it! but might be too sweet if you’re not into sweet things. The drink was great; the matcha taste silky with hint of rose. Would really come again for its pancake 😋

Coffee lovers should not miss this place.Especially those who like it black.Ask their friendly baristas for specialty coffee beans available, and try their hand brew drip coffee. 😍😍😍Wonderful cuppa.Tried a few breakfast items too. Nice food. But be aware that, lunch menu is only available after 12noon.Besides that, carpark can be a problem. They do provide free carpark but are relatively limited compared to the seats available in the Cafe.Definitely worth a try.

26/6/2022: Can't believe it's been 4 years since i last came. Place is still huge, with good crowd, but not too noisy. Tables are a good distance apart, so i guess a conversational lunch would be highly suitable. Had the pork burger and smoked salmon croissant... All great bite. Sweet potato fries was excellent. Ordering is via QR code on each table. Menus seems to be quite comprehensive compared to then.

4.3

A nice cup of iced rose latte but nothing too extraordinary. Same goes with the pork burger: Delicious but I'd expect more for that price (very high side). The sweet potato fries is a nice surprise though.Generally not too crowded (Sat 3-5pm). They have a number of seatings that are far apart from each other. The customer service can do with a bit of upgrade to match with the shop's reputation.

The place is amazing for stationary and art lovers or if you just like things put away neatly. Since everything is well designed and decorated it makes it visually satisfying just looking around. The only downside is the cafe having a very limited amount of seats buy the drinks are delicious nonetheless

We went there on weekday around lunch hour and we are seated near the entrance. Love their environment, ambient, and the vibe. The bar looks nice, the staff is friendly at least to us.We ordered two drinks and one dessert since we had lunch earlier. The grape fruit cold brew is surprisingly interesting and refreshing at the same time. The dessert is OK.

Lovely cafe located at Love Lane (with adequate car park next door at RM5 per entry), this place offers a pretty decent variety of western cuisine such as pizza, pasta and meat and fish dishes on top of great coffee!Prices are reasonable for Malaysian standard (cost of living has gone up so much over the years!) and food taste good 👍

Good selection of food & beverages with nicely designed environment. However staff would need to be more conscientious when serving, not simply leaving non ordered food on one’s table while they check if it’s correct or for another table. Also to check that dishes are clean prior to using to serve, One coffee we ordered had clear lipstick marks on the cup 🤷🏻🤦🏻

4.2

If you're looking for chill vibe away from lunch hours or a place to take good photos. This place worth considering. The overall design of the cafe and the friendliness and attentive if the staffs make this place very cosy. Can't give full 5 stars as I didn't order the main course. But there is a good varieties of cakes and beverages. I personally think the price might be a little pricy for the local but who am I to say. I feel that overall it worth making the trip here and get some good vibes.

Relocated. New place is bright and spacious. Ordered the Urban's Really Big Breakfast and a cup of cappuccino. Taste wise is satisfactory. The bacons, sausage and breads are noteworthy. Arrived bit after 0730 and was told that kitchen is ready for ordering only at 0800. Not a big deal as you can order drinks first while waiting. Really big breakfast was disappointing. Homemade pork sausage was bit porky and bland. Sourdough toast saved the dish. Latte arrived lukewarm. Servers were friendly and welcoming. Big plus. Might come back and try other dishes.
